Singapore - Gemas At Singapore Woodlands Railway Station you will board the magnificent carriages of the Eastern & Oriental Express luxury sleeper train. Your steward to escort you to your cooly air conditioned cabin. The journey of a lifetime commences, as you leave Singapore and travel through the lush landscapes of South East Asia. The train will travel through jungles, passing by palm and rubber plantations and before long as you enjoy the gorgeous views your steward will serve you a delightful afternoon tea in your cabin as you relax. A evening approaches, it's time to get your glad rags on for dinner in the Dining Car. After dinner there will be entertainment and the opportunity for a night cap.
Taman Negara - Kuala Lumpar Breakfast will be served in your cabin by your steward as you enjoy the landscapes of the Jungle Line pass by your window, this will be some of the wildest landscapes you will see on your journey. Lunch will also be taken aboard the Eastern & Oriental Express in the Dining Car before arriving at Merapoh Railway Station, here you will alight to take a tour of the Taman Negara National Park, this is one of the oldest tropical rainforests on the planet and is filled with lush green mountains, dense jungle, wide rivers and some beautiful animals including the Malayan tiger, water buffalo, tapirs, hornbills and macaques to name just a few. Taman Negara National Park is a true natural paradise.
There are some options to selection from whilst at Taman Negara National Park; one is where you can learn about edible jungle ingredients, or, you can take a photography course in the rainforest, alternatively, there is the chance to support of the endangered Malayan tiger in a conservation mission in partnership with Save Wild Tigers.
You'll return to the Eastern & Oriental Express to enjoy some lively local entertainment in the evening in the Piano Bar Car after a delicious dinner complete with local ingredients.
West-Coast Line - Penang On day three of the Wild Malaysia journey, you will take breakfast and lunch on board the Eastern & Oriental Express. After lunch you will alight for the crossing to Penang Island. At Penang Island you will be able to select from various immersive activities, all of which take into account Malaysia’s rich culture; For the art lovers, you can choose to explore Georgetown Old Quarter with a local guide, along your tour you'll delve into ancient temples, visit a contemporary studio and also head to a traditional opera and puppet house. The foodies can discover the depths of Peranakan cooking, with a guide you will purchase specialities from local grocery and spice vendors before trying your hand at local dishes in a cookery class. Or, for those independent explorers, you can make the most of a tri-shaw with driver and a map, and enjoy Georgetown’s enchanting streets and attractions at your leisure.
After an exciting day on the island you will rejoin the Eastern & Oriental Express at Butterworth for a convivial final evening on board, you'll enjoy a wonderful dinner onboard and be charmed with some fantastic entertainment.
Johor - Singapore Breakfast can be taken either in your cabin or in the Dining Car. As you enjoy breakfast the Eastern & Oriental Express travels through the state of Johor, which is famous for it's lush rainforest and gorgeous beaches. You'll cross the strait to Singapore shortly after breakfast, where your Wild Malaysia journey aboard the Eastern & Oriental Express luxury sleeper train concludes at Singapore Woodlands Railway Station.
Measuring 5.8sq m. Traditional Pullman style cabins which your steward will convert to a seating arrangement during the day and an upper and lower berth at night. The Pullman Cabins have en-suite shower, a toilet, personal safe and hair dryer. All Pullman Cabins have air conditioning.
Measuring 7.8sq m. Cabins are converted during the day by your steward to a seating arrangement, whilst for night your steward will convert the State Cabin to two single, floor level beds. The State Cabins have en-suite shower, a toilet, personal safe and hair dryer. All State Cabins have air conditioning.
Measuring 11.6sq m. Daytime seating is converted by your steward to two single beds at floor level for night. The daytime configuration allows for ample room to entertain. Presidential Cabins are fully air-conditioned and have an en-suite shower, toilet, hair dryer, personal safe and CD player, along with a complimentary mini bar and WiFi.
Please note that there are no single cabins aboard the Eastern & Oriental Express, those wishing to travel solo are charged a supplement of 100%.

All prices shown are for one adult ticket. Sleeper journeys are based on two adults sharing accommodation. Single occupancy of cabins may incur additional charge.

This is done so the operators can add you to their guest list, send you your tickets and ensure the meals served to you onboard meet your dietary requirements. There are a limited number of private tables and cabin types onboard. While we keep our website updated regularly, there may be occasions when private tables or cabin types become fully booked meaning we are unable to fulfil your booking requirements. Should this be the case, we will contact you to discuss alternative options and refund any payments made.
We have the right to refuse the request of a deposit when a journey is scheduled to depart in less than 16 weeks. If you choose to book with a deposit you must pay the remaining balance in full 15 weeks before departure at the latest. Should you fail to pay the remaining balance 15 weeks prior to departure, you will forfeit your deposit and your booking. Deposits are accepted by request. Most journeys require a 25% deposit to secure a booking however some specialist journeys do require a 50% deposit. Please contact us for confirmation.
Tickets are sent electronically around 5 days before departure. You will not receive tickets or any form of 'gift pack' in the post. This is in an attempt to reduce paper use and do our part for the environment.
