Cancellations by operators

LuxuryTrainTickets.com is an authorised ticketing agent of journeys and therefore will not make any cancellations directly. Journey cancellations are very rare and are made directly by the operator. LuxuryTrainTickets.com will always inform customers of any cancellations as soon as possible and offer the appropriate refunds or alternative journeys.

No fees will be incurred should an operator cancel a journey.

Cancellations & amendments by the customer

Customers may make amendments to their journey or even cancel at any time, however there may be fees payable. Any cancellation or amendment must be in writing.

Operators may be required to add additional carriages or add additional journey dates based on demand and order the appropriate quantities of food and drink based on the number of passengers that book. Cancelling or amending your booking may incur a cost to the operator or result in empty seats or cabins on a journey resulting in lost potential earnings, which is why they charge a fee.

LuxuryTrainTickets.com cancellation fees

Cancellations for any journey regardless of notice will incur a fee of 5% of your total booking. This covers transactional fees payable by LuxuryTrainTickets.com as well as administration charges caused as the result of a cancellation. Cancellation requests must be given in writing by email.

This cancellation fee is payable on top of the operator's own individual fees as outlined below.

Belmond cancellation and amendment fees

Cancellation Policy for Istanbul journeys aboard Venice Simplon-Orient-Express

Northern Belle cancellation and amendment fees

We will apply any monies you have already paid to us towards settling any cancellation charge(s) (and to the extent your payments exceed the sum due, we will refund the balance).

No refunds will be given for passengers not travelling or for unused services.

Golden Eagle cancellation and amendment fees

A cancellation of a booking must be made without delay, in writing and be signed by the person who made the booking. The date of cancellation is the date on which your letter, fax or e-mail is received by us, and it is your responsibility to ensure that we have received your communication. There will be a cancellation charge to compensate us for making your booking, as we have already incurred costs and the risk that we will be unable to resell your place(s). The charges are as follows:

- 61 days or more - loss of deposit
- Less than 60 days 100% of the booking

The cancellation charges above have been calculated as a genuine pre-estimate of the losses we would incur in the event you cancelled your holiday within the stipulated time period, taking into account the charges we will incur from our suppliers (some of which will be up to 100%)

If the reason for your cancellation is covered under the terms of your travel insurance policy you may be able to reclaim the cancellation charges.

Orient Express cancellation and amendment fees

The Client is entitled to cancel the Contracts of the Trip at any time before the start of the Trip, but, in this case, the Client shall be required to pay the following indemnification including tax equal to:

- Twenty-five percent (25%) of the price including tax of the Trip in case of cancellation ninety-one days (91) days or more before the departure date
- Fifty percent (50%) of the price including tax (e.g. VAT) of the Trip in case of cancellation between ninety days (90) and thirty-one (31) days before the departure date
- One hundred percent (100%) of the price including tax (e.g. VAT) of the Trip in case of cancellation within thirty (30) days before the departure date.
