Monday: London – Haverfordwest

Tuesday: Haverfordwest – Porthmadog

As the sun rises, casting its glow over the stunning Pembrokeshire coastline, get ready for a day filled with adventure amidst Wales's picturesque landscapes. After a relaxed breakfast, disembark at Llandrindod Wells, where an inviting guided hike through the serene valleys of the secluded Welsh heartland awaits. Along the journey, savour a classic British picnic amidst fragrant lavender fields, complete with a thoughtfully curated hamper showcasing the finest local produce.

Reboard the train for lunch and embark on a scenic ride along the Heart of Wales Line, which meanders through the rural uplands of Carmarthenshire and Powys. Linger over a leisurely breakfast as the train departs from Porthmadog, heading south toward Machynlleth, located at the southern edge of Snowdonia National Park.  During this journey, you can unwind in the Observation Car and take in the stunning views as you cross the picturesque Barmouth Bridge. By mid-morning, you’ll arrive in Machynlletha- a creative hub known for its Museum of Modern Art. Back on the train, enjoy lunch as you continue your journey through the lush landscapes of Mid Wales and Montgomeryshire, passing Welshpool before entering Shropshire. Thursday: Oxfordshire – London
