DAY 1 PARIS, FRANCE
When you arrive in Paris, you will be transferred to a central 5-star hotel for a one-night stay. In the evening, you will be treated to a welcome reception dinner... The perfect opportunity to meet your fellow travellers
DAY 2 CHAMPAGNE, FRANCE
This incredible rail adventure commences from Paris Gare de Lyon Station, where you will enjoy a champagne drinks reception before stepping aboard the iconic Golden Eagle Danube Express. Settle into your cabin and get comfortable as the train travels through the French countryside towards Champagne.
Renowned for producing the finest sparkling wines in the world, Champagne boasts lush green hills, chalk plains and perfectly manicured vineyards. Although Champagne is famous for its wine production, it also offers a rich history with impressive cathedrals and regal medieval architecture.
DAY 3 VIENNA, AUSTRIA
Marvel at the majestic Alps as you make your way into Switzerland. It is your choice whether to relax in the privacy of your cabin or enjoy the ambience of the Bar Lounge Car. After a leisurely afternoon of incredible views and delicious food and drink, you arrive in Vienna.
Tonight's activities include an elegant dinner accompanied by a private performance featuring the incredible Vienna Supreme Orchestra.
DAY 4 VIENNA, AUSTRIA & POSTOJNA, SLOVENIA
The morning of day 4 promises an exciting exploration of Austria's stunning capital. Vienna is renowned for its cultural wonders and has been referred to as the city of music due to the many famous classical musicians who have called this city home.
When the afternoon rolls around, it's time to board the train and head towards the spectacular Semmering Pass - A UNESCO Heritage Site which boasts 16 viaducts and 15 tunnels. We strongly recommend getting your cameras out for this part of the trip.
Next, you will disembark the train and board an underground train to explore the mysterious depths of Postojna Caves. This is an experience like no other - a vast and beautiful network of intricate cave formations, all accompanied by the dulcet tones of a saxophonist echoing through the caves.
DAY 5 BELGRADE, SERBIA
Arrive in Serbia's vibrant capital - Belgrade - for an exciting day of exploration. As well as being an exuberant cosmopolitan city, Belgrade also boasts a rich history. During your time here, you will experience medieval tombs, Turkish baths and Celtic fortifications. Marvel at the beautiful contrast of socialist blocks against art nouveau masterpieces.
DAY 6 SOFIA, BULGARIA
As the train heads towards Bulgaria, relax in the comfort of the Bar Lounge Car as the resident pianist serenades you. Take the opportunity to savour the joys of slow travel as you watch the world go by outside.
In the afternoon, you will arrive in Sofia - one of the oldest cities in Europe. Sofia is located at the foot of Mount. Vitosha and therefore offers a breathtaking backdrop to today's explorations. There is much to explore here, but the most striking features are the many onion-domed churches and Ottoman mosques.
DAY 7 ISTANBUL, TURKEY
The magnificent city of Istanbul is the final stop on your incredible journey. Istanbul is a truly beautiful city filled with incredible architecture, quirky boutiques and stunning views. Its masterpieces include the ancient Hippodrome of Constantine, the 6th-century Hagia Sophia and the 16th-century Süleymaniye Mosque.
Today, you are invited to spend the day exploring the city at your leisure before a grand farewell dinner on the banks of the Bosphorus.
DAY 8 ISTANBUL, TURKEY
After an overnight stay at a centrally located five-star hotel, enjoy a delicious breakfast before being transferred to the airport. If you would like to extend your stay and explore Istanbul at your own leisure, you are more than welcome!

PLEASE NOTE: Receiving receipt of payment is not confirmation that your booking has been successful. We will contact you one to 10 working days after you have paid to confirm your booking, take further details of those travelling and send your itinerary. In the rare instance your booking cannot be fulfilled for any reason, such as the operator cancelling a journey or anything else beyond our control, we will be in touch with alternative options or will refund your payment.
All prices shown are for one adult ticket. Sleeper journeys are based on two adults sharing accommodation. Single occupancy of cabins may incur additional charge.

This is done so the operators can add you to their guest list, send you your tickets and ensure the meals served to you onboard meet your dietary requirements. By booking with LuxuryTrainTickets.com, you are agreeing that you allow such necessary details to be shared with the operators under the cause of legitimate interest. There are a limited number of private tables and cabin types onboard. While we keep our website updated regularly, there may be occasions when private tables or cabin types become fully booked meaning we are unable to fulfil your booking requirements. Should this be the case, we will contact you to discuss alternative options and refund any payments made.
We have the right to refuse the request of a deposit when a journey is scheduled to depart in less than 16 weeks. If you choose to book with a deposit you must pay the remaining balance in full 15 weeks before departure at the latest. Should you fail to pay the remaining balance 15 weeks prior to departure, you will forfeit your deposit and your booking. Deposits are accepted by request. Most journeys require a 25% deposit to secure a booking however some specialist journeys do require a 50% deposit. Please contact us for confirmation.
Tickets are sent electronically around 5 days before departure. You will not receive tickets or any form of 'gift pack' in the post. This is in an attempt to reduce paper use and do our part for the environment.
